English Park, a refreshing break
English Park is a small and beautiful public garden located right in front of the Craiova City Hall building, whose development began in the interwar period, on a space then intended for a future administrative palace. With the relocation of the City Hall to the building across from the garden, it became a permanent arrangement. Its name comes from the fact that the architecture of this park is designed as an old English garden style, symmetrical, with shrubs and small plants, with areas alternating between shade and light. The beautifully paved alleys have numerous benches along them where you can relax. In the middle of the garden there is a small artesian fountain that beautifies the appearance of this garden. The space is maintained by planting flowers specific to each season, depending on the flowering period, and in winter, during the Christmas holidays, decorating the coniferous shrubs with lights and specific decorations creates a fairy-tale atmosphere.
